Midas Before Racing Results December & January Analysis

Hi All,

I’ve had a few members ask for some analysis of recent results. So I’ve prepared a report on my December & January before racing system results.

Just to note my results perhaps differ slightly to yours, as it depends on what time of day you take the results, as selections alter throughout the day. Generally I take the reading about midday, but
will vary it to suit my betting patterns.

One thing I have noticed is that often a winner will drift out, so if you have a bookie with BOG and you can match your betfair price, bet at the bookie this will increase your earnings.

Ok let’s start with December.

Not a good month for the before racing system with a 5.11 point loss overall. As with November, let’s break it down to see were the winners and losing are occuring.

December Results

Odds Range Points Profit
Below 2.0 -4.96
2-3 6.06
3-4 11.89
4-5 0.6
5-6 0.6
6-7 1
7-8 1.8
8-9 -5
9-10 -6.9
10+ -9

For December the winners are in the mid range from Evens – 7/1 and sticking in this range would have resulted in a 21.95 profit in december. A combination of no big priced winners and poor favourites led to an overall loss.

January Results

A Much stronger month with 58.73 points profit in total and a welcome increase on December.

Odds Range Points Profit
Below 2.0 -4.17
2-3 1.4
3-4 -1.43
4-5 8.63
5-6 -12
6-7 27.9
7-8 17.6
8-9 17.8
9-10 -8
10+ 10

This month simply betting at over 5/1 would have produced a profit of 65.3 points.

November Recap:

Odds Range Points Profit
Below 2.0 5.15
2-3 -3.295
3-4 21.1
4-5 -8.2
5-6 -0.8
6-7 8.2
7-8 6.2
8-9 14.1
9-10 9.3
10+ 23

Overall 3 Month trend:

Odds Range Points Profit
Below 2.0 -3.98
2-3 4.165
3-4 31.65
4-5 1.03
5-6 -12.2
6-7 37.1
7-8 25.6
8-9 26.9
9-10 -5.6
10+ 24

Conclusion

We’ve had a couple of months of odds on favourites (below 2.0) performing badly. This is quite the reverse of previous form as they tend to do well at these prices. My guess would be problems with the ground over the winter period have
led to less favourites winning.

Personally from these stats I like the idea of betting at 5/1 or above. This produces 108 points profit over 3 months which is fantastic. We can still make a profit of 20.665 points over the bets that are 5/1 and below but the trend seems to be
points towards 5/1 and above. Betting at 2/1 – 3/1 seems another hotspot if you want your winners a bit more regular with 31.65 points on just this odds bracket.
